Trip Recap...Naked?

Hello everyone,

Have you heard the song "Bulletproof" by La Roux? It's been stuck in my head ever since the weekend.

I had a really fun trip and most of it involved around food, haha. Isn't it nice when you have a friend that can share your love of food and puts up with you taking pictures of it?

I wish I would have taken more pictures, but some of the time we were with people who really wouldn't understand, so I decided not to freak them out and refrained from taking pictures.

Luckily I didn't have to eat at the dining hall at all since my friend lives 5 minutes away from a Whole Foods (score)! He frequents it so often that most of the workers there know him by name. It was kind of funny to walk in and have the workers wave and greet you like they were your friends.

We tried the new Naked coconut water Tropical smoothie.

I really didn't care for it too much. My initial reaction was that it tasted like Capri-Sun...yuck. Once I drank a little more, it tasted better, but I still wasn't wild about it. I wouldn't buy it again. I'll just stick to my good old Green Machine Naked.

And the salad bar at Whole Foods was our best friend. I have to say that I ate many foods this weekend that I ordinarily wouldn't have, but I don't really feel that bad about it because it was really a one time thing. And now I'm back to copious amounts of veggies...just how I like it.

A sampling of our salad bar finds from Sunday afternoon:

Cajun sweet potato wedges and samosas

Balsamic roasted veggies

Fried plantains

Since sweet potatoes are one of my favorite foods, I probably ate those every night. The Cajun sweet potato wedges had a kick at the end that was terrific! The samosas were pretty good too...the chutney that came on the side was a nice sweet addition. The roasted veggies were rather bland and not that great. And don't the friend plantains look just like chicken wings? I promise they weren't, haha. We got those every time they had them too, because they were just so delicious. Probably because they were fried, haha.

It was fun to go to Whole Foods that often, since I don't have one here by me at school, but I just have one thing to say: thanks, Whole Foods, for sucking all my money up.

Haha, but it was worth it.

I'll finish up the trip later today. See you all tonight!

Question: If you've tried Naked juices, what's your favorite flavor?

  2. I've never had a Naked juice! I'm not a big fan of drinking my food, I'd rather eat it :) How convenient that WF was so close by...their salad bar is definitely worth the splurge!! Happy hump day love!!
