Tea and a Mild Crisis

Ah...I didn't post last night because I'm having a crisis with my major. Haha, it sounds so dramatic, but to put it simply, I have to choose between two concentrations, and I can't. I'm notoriously bad at making decisions, so something that actually matters like this is killing me! It would probably help if I knew what I wanted to do after college, but I don't. The first choice involves taking extremely boring classes, but it may be more applicable to other job areas after graduation. The second choice involves easier, more interesting classes, but probably will be less applicable. I feel that if I do the second option, I'll be selling myself short. Sigh, I'm going to talk to an advisor today about and hopefully I'll come up with an answer. Well, I'll have to because registration is 8:30 am on Monday!

But enough about that. On to happy eats! I'm hoping to bum a ride (or take the bus) to the grocery store because I really need some snacky foods. And by snacky foods I mean carrots and hummus (and on-sale Easter candy, haha.). I'm itching to create something, but I can't because I don't have the right ingredients. I was rifling through the bins where I keep my food, protein powder, etc, and I found a smidgen of this protein powder left.

So, I decided to make protein cookie dough, aka protein powder mixed with water.

Wow, I didn't realize how completely unappetizing that looks.

It tasted just okay, probably because the container was open for...a long time. ;-)

Next up was tea time! I love tea, but sometimes I forget to drink it. And I'm a little lazy to walk down the stairs and heat up the water in the microwave, then walk all the way up. I know, tough life, right? ;-) But last night I made a point of bringing home this tea from the dining hall:

I love that it's organic!

I seeped it in my favorite mug:

With some quality homework in the background...

Delicious. This morning I got motivated again and made myself some tea that a friend sent to me for my birthday. It's from Germany and it's called "Adventsstern" (Advent Star). It has apple, hibiscus, orange, anise, cinnamon, almond, and vanilla in it. It smells heavenly, like licorice, and it's a pretty rose color.

I loved the way it perfumed my whole drawer, and I'm sad to see it go...I don't know if you can read it, but the inside lip of the mug says, "Promise you won't forget me. Ever." :-)

This morning I woke up and had some obligatory protein pudding/cookie dough made the regular way:

And an orange. The oranges they have in the dining hall are teensy tiny! Tonight I think my friends and I are going to rent a movie, any suggestions?

  3. I just found your blog and am so interested (as a fellow college student of course!). I hope your classes get worked out- I say take the interesting ones and make that what you want to do; would you want a boring job? Does that make sense? anyways, at least it is the weekend now! enjoy it!

  4. Hey Claire, thanks for your comment :D

I thought I was really out of the norm by being vegan in college. I'm sure you can relate! I look forward to reading :)
