While at the grocery store the other day, I decided that I was going to buy a squash and bake it in the convection oven in my dorm. Not that that's odd or anything. (Side note: Yesterday a floormate commented, "You're so different from anyone I've met, in a good way. You eat so differently. You're the only person I know who makes salads in her room." Haha, what can I say?) Anyway, I was going to buy an acorn squash when I spotted this one:
What kind of squash is that? It was unlabeled, and I hoped with all my little heart that is was a kabocha squash that I've been hearing about. I cut it open, and it looked like this:
Then I baked it:
And the verdict? It tasted...squashy. I don't think I baked it long enough. Was this the elusive kabocha? I bought a real kabocha last week, so I'll be able to tell for sure if it really was it.
P.S. The chocolate post will come tomorrow. I may or may not have had chocolate for breakfast. ;-) Happy Valentine's Day!
